1 - You should focus on the theme - the spirit of PC. You could talk about the relationship you develop during the course of PC. Let ideas flow out of your heart. You should not be afraid to write lyrics that say what you feel.
2 - Stop thinking so much about winning Gold. While this is a competition, you would do better focusing on doing music for the love of it instead of making winning a medal your primary focus. If you're doing this just because you think you could win a medal, when that doesn't come you will become frustrated and give up. Focus on writing good songs and the medal will come.
3 - Listen to music. Listen to hits. Ask yourself this question. What has made these songs hits? What tricks and techniques has the songwriter used? Students, why create mediocrity if you can copy genius? Some people tend to think differently. But I beg to differ.
4 - You should work on your songs every day if possible. Working on it every day will pay off. You don't necessarily have to write an entire song each and every day, but a few lines will go a long way. Practice makes perfect. The more time you spend writing songs the better you will become.
5 - Write songs about your own experiences with PC. It's probably much easier to write about what you know than what you've never been through. It comes from within. The preparation you have made, the agony you went through, the laughters you had, etc....You should however think of your audience and give your songs a global appeal. We Are The World, We Are The Children...
6 - Rewrite and polish your songs. What sounded brilliant before may not create such a great impact later. So keep refining these lyrics or melodies which you think need enhancing. Make sure that your song is polished to perfection.
7 - Keep a recorder close by if that's possible. Keep your MD close to your bed. Sometimes you may wake up with a brilliant, million dollar idea. You never know. Sing it into your MD or recorder. If you don't, your songwriting idea may be permanently lost. Similarly, you may also carry a notebook. Jot down ideas. They come unexpectedly. Some of the greatest hits that were ever written started with one simple, stupid idea. Don't miss out.
8 - Read books/sites on the subject of songwriting. Read the good ones. There are many good songwriting sites out there, that will give you all the songwriting tips you're searching for.
9 - Know your audience, in this case the judges' expectations. You need to ask yourself this question. Who I'm I writing music for? If your audience doesn't understand what you're saying then there is no point to your music. If a computer genius had to use technical jargon to the average computer owner about troubleshooting a computer, he wouldn't understand. It's the same with songs and songwriting. Write in a language that your audience and target market understands and appreciates. Your lyrics shouldn't be over-complicated.
10 - Use catchy phrases. There are certain phrases which people use everyday. Why not use them in your songs? By using these words in your song, people will be reminded of your song each time they use them. Write your lyrics the way people speak.
11 - Have fun. Too many times, you are working under stress. Then, you don't enjoy what you are doing. It's sad. Do yourself a favor and enjoy composing songs. Remember when you first signed up for the competition? I'm sure you did it for the fun of it. Have fun and let those creative juices flow.
12 - Hook your listener. The focus of your song should revolve around the hook. The hook is the part that grabs the listener and has him/her sub-consciously singing your song all day long, to the point where...they just can't get it out of their heads! I want nobody nobody but you....It is the sweet part of the song that's repeated over and over. Don't waste the listener's time with extra-long verses. Get to the hook.
13 - Make a good first impression with first line of your song. Grab your listener's attention immediately. If you cannot grab the listener in that opening line it may be difficult to have her hear that great line which you have in let's say, your second verse. Prepare your listener to listen to, and to want to listen to the rest of your song.Labels: song composition, Songwriting

Some of you must be wondering - what will the judges be looking for this Friday at the Modern Dancing prelims? Here are some pointers for you (of course the five of us would have different experience and background, thus different level of expectations).
At the prelims, always wear a brightly colored outfit, if that suits the theme, as it makes your group stand out and the judges will take notice of it. It's much easier to remember a girl with a red top on than it is to pick out a girl in all black. I am sure you know what I mean.
Wear just a bit of makeup to make you look fresh and make sure your hair is neat, of course! You could either wear a cap, tie it up or just comb it if you have short hair. If you want to impress the judges, be confident and of course SMILE (unless you are doing a solemn number)! Confidence is a good thing as long as you don't come off as being OVER confident. Take a bow afterwards, because the judges will always appreciate politeness. Next, make sure your skills and routines look clean. For instance, it's better to see a clean double pirouette than a messy sloppy triple. This would impress them more than a skill that isn't as polished as you'd like it to be. If I would also suggest that you have a signature-routine which makes your dance choreography special and memorable, e.g. the point-clap-clap-point-clap routine in Nobody by Wondergirls.
Lastly, having lots of energy helps a lot. Have the same amount of energy you started with and don't lose it. Make sure that your routine is well-practised and you know it well enough to be confident and sharp. And remember to just have fun! End it with a split, literally!
So, the take home message is just three words: SMILE, ENERGY, SYNCRHONISATION!

1. There will be a seminar for all the participants of DIKIR BARAT competition tomorrow during the CCA session. Due to this special arrangement, we will postpone the Modern Dancing prelims to Friday, 2 April. The competition shall start at 1.00 pm. Special thanks to Cik Zurida and Cik Intan for organising the DB seminar. Please liaise with them if you have further quiries.
2. All debaters MUST wear proper school uniform with black shoes during the competitions. You will be disqualified if you fail to abide by this simple ruling. I recall seeing our students dressed up properly for the CQTEO debates.
3. I apologise for the constant absence of our judges for the various events. On behalf of the committee, I thank my team for constantly reminding the judges a week before the event, one day before the competition and on the day of the competition. If you don't see your favourite teachers in the judging panel the next round, that probably means that the teachers have officially rejected the offer to be a judge for Paramount Championship. My team and I have tried our best but there is really nothing we can do about it. What a waste!
Stay tune for the results of the Public Speaking competitions....Labels: debate, Dikir barat, judging

After doing Paramount Championship for 6 years, I have seen enough students, those who consistently joined the singing events but will never get into the finals, also those who joined the first time and walked away with a medal.
Unless you are really good - a diamond in the rough (well we all think we are diamonds, and sure enough to our loved ones, we surely are...), or we have to be realistic. I am always surprised by the fact that many of my students would start joining the PC singing events when they are in Form 5 thinking that they should at least get into the finals. Let me tell you what if you fail? Can you still try again next year? You'll never get a second chance, in school, to do it again. My advice to the younger students is that you should start joining the stage events when you are in Form 1. This is for you to be familiar with the stage because singing on the stage in front of an audience is definitely very different from what we normally do in the bathroom. You need this to gain as much stage experience as possible. You might not be able to win the abang and kakak in Form 3, but what is important is that you will one day defeat them with enough practice and experience.
Now, talking about practising at home, you should always focus on the breathing technique! I don't know how many of you really know how to breathe when you sing. I know you are breathing, but are you breathing at the right place when you are singing (let's assume that you know how to breathe with the diaphragm)? Let's take a look at the following example:
You should breathe at the following short intervals -
(inhale) Somewhere (inhale again only if you are short of breath) over the rainbow (inhale) way up high
(inhale) There's a land that I heard of (inhale) once in a lullaby
Well, this is just one example. Please consult your vocal teachers for more detailed approach. It will be very awkward if you breathe at the wrong place as you don't only sound as if you were short if breath but this would also destroy the flow of the song. I saw a couple of these last Friday....Labels: comments

It was indeed a disasterous evening!
Well, please don't get me wrong, I am referring to what I did to all the contestants yesterday. I apologise for not allowing many of you sing for 1.5 min as promised because it was already running late and we, the judges, had no choice but to screen your performances as to whether you have what it takes to get into the next round. Therefore, as a contestant, you will have to give your best from the moment you step onto the stage, the moment you open your mouth to sing the first tune/word.
Some students called me up and/or sms me asking me how they did in the competition although they knew what I wanted to say. However, I blame it completely on (1) lack of practice and (2) lack of knowledge on the art of duet singing.
The most important thing about singing a duet, is finding a partner (of course we all know), who has a singing voice that blends well with yours. Yes, this is difficult especially with PC. You have a limited pool of voices to choose from in your class. Even if the voices don't blend that well, the next aspect to consider will be to make singing a song believable. When you sing to each other, your eyes should meet (again I mean passing energy to each other either to comfort each other with an eye contact or to cue your partner), and it should show feelings between you both. The feeling you are showing will entirely depend on the lyrics, the story you are telling. It is a form of acting and it takes practice!! If it is not a love song, and sung between two of the same gender, there needs to be stage presence about the two of you.
Remember, that not all duets are between the opposite sexes, nor are they all love songs. A duet is when any two people sing and share a song together. Sharing doesn't mean that you count the number of words in a song and divide that equally between the two of you. Sharing here means the sharing of emotions and story which leads to the formation of a chemistry between the two singers. We are not looking for two solo singers singing a song. Therefore, the best song to choose for a duet performance will always be a duet song, unless two of you are able to bring out the best of a solo song. Ask yourselves this question when you are selecting a song for duet: How could we make a solo song nicer when it is already perfect? What else can we do which was not done by the original singer?
Also, make sure that each have solo parts. Unless you try to do freestyle harmonise, layer or echo lyrics, do not clash roles, trip up lines, or 'cross lanes'. That means that if you sing lower than your partner, remain there. The limit would be if you are both singing the same note. Stay consistent.
Listen closely when you are not singing so you do not miss your cue to join in. You can always lip-sync lyrics while not singing to make sure you can prompt your partner if he seems to forget the words or for you to keep track of when to join in. Prompt your partner with a nod, or a glance, or you may even want to open your palms with a finger pointing towards them. Remember, the more you practise however, the less often you will need these actions.
As the old saying - MAY THE BEST prepared TEAM WIN!Labels: competition

Q Is backing track allowed in the solo instrument competition?
A I am afraid not for this year although we allowed that for last year. The reason is that we encourage the students to display and showcase their skills and technique without having to depend too much on the backing track as they could be camourflaged/over-shadowed by it. How are we going to judge a contestant who doesn't play so well but with a very outstanding backing track? I am sure he/she would have some added advantages.
Q Will a person be disqualified to enter the other events if he/she pulls out from the previous competition?
A Yes and no. Yes, the person shall be disqualified from joining other events if he/she purposely pulls out from one competition. This decision was made in the previous meeting with all the Events Directors. We reckon that it is unfair to the other participants and/or the organising committee who have been planning the competitions weeks ahead. The entire schedule will be affected just because of the few pull-outs. Now, can you imagine how tedious it is going to be for the debates, chess competition, etc, if many were to pull out last minute.
The most important thing here is that we want to instil the right mind-set among the students of Sri KDU the importance of making and upholding personal decision. We are responsible for any decision we make. We will face the consequences regardless of whether the outcome is predictable or unexpected. Anyway, the students were given ample time to consider before they signed up for the events. No one was forced to enter any competitions.
However, in the meeting we also agreed that if the person is able to give a valid reason, which includes the presentation of a medical slip (not a letter from the parents as this can be abused) or if the person has a last-minute important function to attend (with written notice from the parents) or if you are representing the school for external competitions, etc, the person will be excluded from the competition without any penalty incurred.
Q Can I still buy the PC t-shirt?
A Yes, of course. We will be getting our t-shirt by the first week of April. In fact, many have come up to me for the purchase of the t-shirt. Although this is just a club t-shirt, many bought because they want to show their support towards us. I thank those who have been very supportive of the Paramount Championship. Please keep the support coming as this is a great motivation for us to organise better competitions for you.
For your information, here are the sizes available: XXS, XS, S and M. We won't be having L and XL simply because they are just too big...I mean they are very big!! Fam Kai-Cong can easily fit into an 'S'. If your frame is not very big, XXS will be just nice for you. Many of our girls will be getting XXS anyway.

My marks are indicated in the brackets
Rank 1 - Yong Zheng Xi (82.2%)
Strength: You know how to play with your voice, your greatest asset. You looked confident on stage probably because you know you have a great voice. Yesterday Once More was a great song but I think you could choose a better song. Good dictions!
Weakness: You need to start the song more steadily. It was a bit shaky at first, I mean the first few words were out of pitch....you also need to feel the lyrics as I felt more of your nerves than the story that you wanted to tell.
Rank 2 - Eleena Rashidah Khalid (85.6%)
Strength: You have the greatest range. Your voice is powerful. You definitely know how to move about. Respect is not an easy song to sing. And I have noticed over the years that you like challenging songs.
Weakness: The audience could be annoyed with your high-pitched voice if you strain it too frequently. It was powerful and therefore, it should be used when necessary. Imagine this, if you abuse the use of fire, it harms more than it benefits. Got it? Moving too much would mean that you are either clueless of the lyrics or you are simply too nervous. Feel the song. I felt nothing from your singing yesterday. So, you still have a lot to improve on. Good luck!
Rank 3 - Rachel Ng Feng Yeng (78.9%)
Strength: You have good skills and sense of rhythm. Look comfortable on stage.
Weakness: Your high pitch sounded shaky and flat. The transition wasn't smooth. Your technique should be supported by your emotions, not the other way round. When you are singing a sad song, your emotions will direct your voice to express the right tone, and hence the audience will be able to feel the lyrics. Don't swallow your words.
Rank 4 - Andrew Seow (83.3%)
Strength: Wow...it was a stunning performance. I like your R&B style. The way you executed the song. You improved a lot from previous years.
Weakness: However, you didn't look comfortable and confident on stage. You mustn't let the audience, especially the judges see that. Hide it! Work with your body, your expressions and your inner feelings. Smile when you need to. You were so close to be on the top 3.
Rank 5 - Tunku Alysha (77.8%)
Strength: You looked confortable and stunning on stage. Your voice is sweet and it soothes the ears.
Weakness: Honestly, you were not my top 5 yesterday. Your song was too easy to sing which didn't allow you to show your vocal strength. The song was also too short, probably because you were trying to make it a 1.5-min performance. It was just a mediocre performance. I cannot be impressed by a still singer throughout the song unless you were Celine Dion!
Rank 6 - Mohammad Noor Aimii (78.9%)
Strength: You owned the stage yesterday. It was an entertaining performance especially after so many boring songs. I was attracted by your tone and your showmanship.
Weakness: Pitching was out. Stand By Me may sound easy but it requires a skillful singer to execute it well. You need to work on your pitching and breathing technique.
Rank 7 - Nur Athirah b Baran (86.7%)
Strength: I like your execution. You managed to bring out the correct feeling of the song. You also looked sexy (which suits the song) and confident on stage. Your attire definitely did help a bit with the overall impression, smart act! Good expressions and showmanship! You were able to connect to the audience.
Weakness: Like I mentioned before, you walked too much, unnecessarily. Sometimes, doing less is doing more. Well, by doing less I don't mean doing nothing! You only move when necessary.
Rank 8 - Fam Kai-Cong (76.7%)
Strength: It is definitely your confident level, although you depended a lot on your audience to give you the energy. You need to learn how to be independent because sometimes your audience might not be giving you what you want. You are well built, so you should know this is your asset. That gives you extra points on stage.
Weakness: I thought it was a great song but your decision to execute it the way you did was a failure. The song was spoilt. You shouldn't just stand behind the mics stand, you should start with the mics stand and then remove the mics during the chorus. Interact with the audience more. If you think it is silly, you will look silly. Preserve your voice for the next round as it sounded a bit rough yesterday.
Rank 9 - Teh Xin Er (81.1%)
Strength: I like your stage presence and showmanship. You know how to manage the stage, and your body. You looked confident and comfortable. Your tone is also nice.
Weakness: It is definitely the dictions. You need to practise more with your pronunciation. Your braces would also affect the way you open your mouth. Let It Be can be too big for you to handle. Your voice doesn't suit the song.
Rank 10 - Anatasha bt Mohd Fimz (81.1%)
Strength: Nice tone and voice. You have strong presence due to your pretty feature.
Weakness: But singing is not all about that! As Sri KDU students are mostly pretty and good looking, you need to equip yourself with other weapons to win the battle. Work on your stage presence. Don't sit there because you don't know what to do on stage. The judges are experienced enough to notice that.
Rank 11 - Arief Adley (73.3%)
Strength: You obviously didn't know that Fly Me To The Moon is the signature song for P&A Nite, and yes, you've chosen the right song for your voice. Thumbs up for that! Your voice is new to the judges, well at least to me. So, the challenge ahead of you will be to choose another right song for your voice.
Weakness: There is no connection between you and the audience at all. You looked very uncomfortable. I could feel that you were so uneasy with your own body. You didn't know where to place your arms, your movement was rigid. You practically won the judges with your voice. But again, like I said, voice is not the only criterion to be considered in the judging process. Where is your showmanship (25%)? Pay attention to your dictions too!
Rank 12 - Mah Li Ean (78.9%)
Strength: Good stage presence and showmanship! Everything is good.
Weakness: But that is not too good. This is because you still have to convert all the goods to better, or you will be stationary at that level. To be frank, your performance didn't stay in my memory for long. I've forgotten what you did unless I refer to what song you sang. Your song could be a bit slow; your expression could be a bit too boring...how do you make your performance stay in our heads?
Rank 13 - Mohammad Noor Aiman (75.6%)
Strength: Pleasant personality with a likeable performance. Good tone!
Weakness: And that's it! You have to work hard with your pitching, rhythmic sense and dictions. You sang the same song as Athirah, and thus the judges would compare. You were not enjoying the song. You should be more sexy and cheaky as though you were singing to the girl of your life! Your voice lacks the power needed to leave an impact on the audience. Work hard for the next round!
Rank 14 - Mohd Faris b Che Lodin (73.3%)
Strength: Good voice!
Weakness: I cannot recall seeing you sing in the past. Perhaps I missed that. Anyway, I have just addressed your problem. You are probably one of those who fails to make a long-lasting impression among the audience. What I am referring here is your performance. You have a great tone but with a slow number like Ain's No Sunshine When She's Gone, you needed more than just being slow. You practically didn't move from your mics stand....The slow tone can appear to be too draggy and hence boring. The emotions must come from deep within. Have you ever been dumped before? You will know what I mean if you have.
Rank 15 - Nur Alina Ali Noor (67.8%)
Strength: You must thank the composer of L-O-V-E. Great choice of song!
Weakness: An average performance, in all aspects. You didn't take the opportunity to give the audience your best even with such a great song. This song requires a lot of acting and expressions. It should be sung with the feeling as though you were at the top of the world! How would you feel when you found REAL LOVE (from your family, friends, and your lover)! Lots of work must be done if you want to stay in the top 12.
Rank 16 - Saw Mei Yi (76.7%)
Strength: Great tone and voice. Pretty face.
Weakness: Is that all? No. But too bad the rest of my comment will be in this section. With your voice, I thought you should end up in the top 10. But what has being a cheerleader and a dancer taught you about stage presence and performance? I saw nothing of that sort from you yesterday. You were very nervous. A very disappointing performance indeed. I know you can be a lot better than this because I have seen your best. I thought you would start the song slow, and would pick up during 'oh please say to me...' and then slow down again in the last verse. That would give a more colourful variation to your performance. Instead, the whole song was slow...slow...slow...died. You must thank Carlson for the good musical accompaniment.
Rank 17 - Mabel Leung (73.3%)
Strength: Great selection of song. The song is as cute as you, thus it suits you. You managed to leave an impact because of your designed choreography. Good job.
Weakness: However, your movement was still uneasy to look at. You didn't look comfortable, but I must say that you have improved from last year. And your smile was sincere but again it was not sincere....Well, I mean you didn't fake your smile so it was sincere; but then sometimes it wasn't the right moment to smile during the song so it didn't seem right. Please improve your dictions as well.
Rank 18 - Yasmin bt Mohd Fareed (72.2%)
Strength: You are one of the very experienced stage performers. You looked steady and confident.
Weakness: I Have A Dream was sung in a too gentle manner. It must be sung with more energy and joy. Everything else was too average. The physical and emotional expressions were lacking. Pitching was also out sometimes.
Rank 19 - Ryan Wong (71.1%)
Strength: You were very confident on stage.
Weakness: But you lacked the showmanship yesterday. Watch out the pitching when you hit the high notes. The low notes are also as important.
Rank 20 - Fam Shen Deng (73.3%)
Strength: I like the way you stress on the "s", but try reducing it a bit. Remember the do-less-is-do-more theory!? You were probably the only one who played the guitar well while at the same time didn't sing too wrongly.
Weakness: Anyway, you have to really work on your pitching! Imagine when you are playing the guitar, you have to press the string REAL hard otherwise what would the sound be like? Yes, you were not "pressing" hard enough, so your notes were floating! To sing well, one MUST listen! Listen to the music well. I suggest that you don't play any instrument in the next round as that will distract you from listening to the music and interacting with the audience.
Wow...that's tiring....both for me to write and for you to read!

Congratulations to all qualifiers!
My comments are very similar to those for the Category A finalists. As you guys are more experienced on stage than the young ones, you should know what to do to get higher points.
Generally, you guys will not be having much problems in pitching and rhythm. So, that is not a major concern for all of you as long as your songs do not require you to sing for 3 octaves!!! What makes a real difference is how you sing the songs. Here, I mean your expression vocally and physically. Is your tone interesting to be listening to? Are you just singing for the sake of singing? Are you feeling the songs you are singing?
Next, here comes showmanship....there are good showmanships and bad showmanships. If you are moving constantly on stage regardless of whether you need to move or not, that is bad showmanship! If you don't move at all or sit still or stand still, that is also bad showmanship! If you move with the music and feel the lyrics with the correct expression, to me, that is good showmanship. So, don't fake your expression. It doesn't help much in getting good marks.
Although most of you speak good English, your diction in singing has to be improved. Don't eat the words. Finish it by stressing to the last syllables. If you need to emphasise the k or the n, you have no choice.
I expect to see all these to be improved in the next round with songs in the 80s! Good luck as only 12 of you will be shortlisted to the semi-finals.

4 Joanna Tan Hui Jean (78.0%)
5 Crystal Koo (77.7%)
6 Teh Ke Er (76.2%)
7 Low Wei Ze (75.7%)
8 Prishaa a/p R. Ellagovan (75.5%)
9 Razlan Ashwyn (73.0%)
10 Nur Addin Arif (72.0%)
10 Lim Jodi (72.0%)
12 Dickson Tan Seng Fang (71.8%)
13 Lee Ee Gene (70.2%)
14 Tan Qian Ning (69.8%)
14 Nur Syahirah Khairuddin (69.8%)
Congratulations!
For those of you who didn't get into the next round, thank you for taking part. If there was one thing that went wrong, it was because you didn't prepare yourselves well enough this year. I never like the idea of playing an instrument while you are singing. We are not professional singers. Therefore, we need backup from the minus-1. Try again next year!
For the qualifiers, please prepare your next song (the 90s) well as the competition is getting stiffer. We are only selecting 5 of you to enter the finals! Don't worry about the ranking now, I have seen people overtaking from the bottom before. Practise makes perfect. Good luck!

As I was making my rounds during the debate, perbahasan and mandarin debate competitions this afternoon, I was so touched by the presence of a few of our ex-students, or I should call them members of the Alumni, who came to help out in the judging process. Well, I am not going to mention names as I would have missed some of you. Thank you so much for coming back to help us out! Well, you guys obviously did make a difference as I would prefer to have you than having only one teacher to judge an event.
Sitting in one of the rooms watching the competition, I did enjoyed it. Perhaps they could be more prepared next time! It was funny as they made small mistakes here and there. Language is something that we have to practise everyday, whether in writing, reading or speaking. If we don't, the consequence would be what I saw at the competitions today!
I also noticed many of the juniors were doing their job for the sake of doing. I don't think the majority of them know the real reason why they were assigned to handle the events. I don't think many of them enjoy doing what are doing. They were not listening. As they were given some text to read out as the master of ceremony, they were just reading out the text like a robot. Some were playing with the handphones, some were talking among themselves while the debators were busy speaking.....if you don't learn from this tedious process of organising the PC events this year, you will not be able to equip yourselves with the relevant knowledge and skills to handle it next year....what more the P&A end of this year? I am worried....

Dear all my children of the PC family,
It has been already 6 years since I started with the PC family culture at Sri KDU. There is nothing to be proud of but I take pride in having so many students, all of you if you know that I am speaking to, to help me run the Paramount Championship for the past years... :)
I know I must have been very demanding and unreasonable at times, or all the time, but deep down, you don't know how much I appreciate your effort and commitment. Teachers have asked me why these students are so committed in helping me? I don't have an answer to that, but I know deep inside, we have built a bond, a strong bond in the course of organising this signature event of Sri KDU. A bond that is not easily formed but at the same time, not easily broken either. I know many of you would be thinking that I would still remember the past, the things that you did wrong, and that you must have offended me in some ways. Let me tell you all, this is never the case with my PC children. You have disappointed me, may be, but I would forget very easily. We might not click so strongly compared to the others, but we must appreciate each other especially after all that we have been through together! :)
You will always be in my mind...if you keep in touch, because this old brain is very forgetful. So, if you think you still want to offer help to the PC family, please do. You are always welcome. I feel sad when I discovered that some of you are drifting apart from the family. As you know, I am not the kind of person who will beg you to stay, but deep down, I feel sad, never mad, because you were hand-picked by me personally among all those who applied. You went through the thick and thin with me. I am sure you still remember the days when we messed up the events on stage. I am sure you still remember the time when you were screamed at because you forgot to pull the mics stand in. And I am sure you still remember losing face in public because you mis-calculated the marks for an event. But do you still remember the time when the others envied you because you are part of the PC family? Do you still remember the time when we went out makan? I hope we remember all the goods and bads that had happened and treasure the memory that has left behind. And I hope to see all of you again.........one day.
With love,
FADA

It's time for me to observe this new batch of juniors - a total of 76 of them. Who will be our next President and his/her office bearers?
In the previous meeting with my juniors, I tried to prepare them for the worst. We, members of the PC family are all silent workers. We often let the performers take the limelight, while we take the blame in time of troubles. We have to arrive early to set up and stay back late to clean up; we eat last, or sometimes eat none. We face challenges everyday, and must survive the harst battles to be better than before.
To be qualified in the top 12 (as we are only looking for 12 committee this year), you MUST have (a) team-spirit (b) common sense/artistic sense (c) high commitment. But to be the next president, one must refer to the best qualities poccessed by our ex-presidents.
2005 Fam Li-Ying (Considerate, role model, committed)
2006 Melody Chong (Sharp, planner, initiative)
2007 Ng Joyee (Loyal, reliable, committed)
2008 Stephanie Cheng (Responsible, likeable, considerate)
2009 Christine Tan (Reliable, committed, likeable)
This year, I am looking for someone who are highly artistic, sharp and a role model. Are you the one we are looking for? Will our next president be a female? Or will he be our first male president? The 25 shortlisted candidates will only be announced in May. Stay tune.Labels: Personal

My special thanks to Christine and my PC family, both the committed seniors and the supportive juniors who help us promote the sales of our t-shirt. Good news is we have reached an order of 200 pcs!!! That is very close to our target - 300. Yeah! Thank you.
This will be our first ever t-shirt for Paramount Championship in conjunction with our 6th year anniversary. In our 2010 plan, we are thinking of making something for the Secondary 5 students who will be leaving end of this year to keep as a token of remembrance for the PC. Of course, there is nothing better than wearing a t-shirt which would remind them of all the battles they have gone through and the sweat and tears that they have had for the past 5 years taking part in the PC events. To you, students, all the best and we hope the memory you have with us will bring a smile or two whenever you recall the good time you spent with PC.Labels: Marketing
